IMPORTANT: Tomorrow’s recycling collection suspended due to extreme heat

Due to the ongoing extreme temperatures and an Amber Weather Warning issued by the Met Office, we have decided to suspend all dry recycling collections (paper, plastic, cans, and glass) scheduled for Tuesday, 1 July.

If your recycling is due for collection tomorrow, please do not put it out, or bring it back in if it’s already on the curb. We kindly ask that you hold onto your recycling until your next scheduled collection day.

Please do not call the contact centre or report missed bins online – this collection is cancelled and won’t be rescheduled. Hold on to your recycling until your next scheduled collection.

This decision was made to protect the health and wellbeing of our dedicated collection crews, with temperatures expected to exceed 30°C. While dry recycling is on hold, all other collections – non-recyclable waste, food waste, garden waste, and business waste – will go ahead as planned.

Please stay safe in the heat. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, seek shade, especially between 11am and 3pm, and check on vulnerable friends, family and neighbours.

We anticipate resuming normal recycling collections on Wednesday, 2 July, assuming temperatures drop as forecasted.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but the safety of our staff is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
